Word Around the Block: Billy Sushi

April 30, 2020 by DRG

Just as restaurants were starting to shut their doors, Billy Tserenbat, a restaurateur with a big personality and optimistic outlook, was just getting ready to open his new restaurant: Billy Sushi.

So, what is a business owner to do? Billy decided to adapt his business to handle more take-out and online order and still plans to open on May 4th! We asked Billy a few questions to get a better idea behind his new restaurant and what inspired him to keep going!

What gave you the idea for Billy Sushi?
You know being sushi chef for long time, Always wanted to open something legendary

Why did you decide to open in the North Loop?
Having restaurant in Wayzata, I always look for world-class neighborhoods. I think the North Loop has got that charm. Also, when West Elm opened I think it truly put North Loop in world-class map.

What inspired you to still open on May 4th?
We are really trying to our best for opening day! “May the Fourth” be with us! We like the Star Wars reference.

What are some of the highlights of your new sushi bar?
Time is essence here, once we open – we will take a look at changing few things. But right now stick with what we know the best, great sushi 😊

Are you offering any specials for your grand opening?
It all depends on Governor Waltz’s stay at home order, but know we have a strong plan for sure!

When can people order take out or delivery?
Again, it depends on Governor Waltz, but hopefully right away!
