What's New in the North Loop Neighborhood

What’s New in the North Loop?

November 27, 2019 by Joe Grunnet

The North Loop neighborhood is ever changing—after all, it’s the fastest growing neighborhood in Minneapolis! Home to spacious warehouses and turn-of-the-century industrial aesthetics, this cosmopolitan community creates the perfect setting to live, work, and play in downtown Minneapolis. Want to know what’s new in the North Loop area this season? Your friends at DRG have the scoop!

North Loop Galley

The North Loop’s newest food hall has recently announced their four new concept restaurants, opening in the next month. Wrecktangle Pizza is described as “Detroit-style pizza through a Minnesota lens”, and SoulFu will offer Southeast Asian cuisine. There’s alos Ono Hawaiian Plates and Thigh Times Birdhouse, which plans to serve what it calls “the original Chicken Wrib: thighs that look like a wing and eat like a rib.”

The North Loop Galley is designed to be a launchpad for up-and-coming restaurateurs. The food hall will also have a 22-seat bar with local beers and cocktails and indoor seating for up to 200 people, as well as an outdoor lounge area that will seat 80.

Before its official grand opening on December 16th, North Loop Galley will offer three preview nights just for the North Loop community, beginning December 12-14, 2019.

Barry’s Bootcamp is opening its first Minneapolis location in the North Loop in early 2020. The Los Angeles-based fitness chain will be located at 701 Washington Ave N.

Barry’s Bootcamp is the original high intensity interval workout. The Minneapolis studio was designed by DXU Architects, and it will feature huge space for fitness classes, locker rooms, and a large lobby with a Fuel Bar. The Fuel Bar offers customized shakes, along with grab-and-go items.
